The temple consists of three floors, each with a colonnade at the opposite end. On the top floor, there is an open courtyard behind the porch. The mummified statue of Hatshepsut as Osiris, the god of death, rests on its pillars. It empowered the pharaohs and included a memorial sanctuary dedicated to Gods associated with their afterlife. The construction of this temple is reflected in the following New Kingdom temples.
