Our guide will take you from your hotel in Hurghada on a two-hour drive in a luxury vehicle to Red Sea monasteries. Your tour will begin with St. Anthony Monastery, the oldest monastery in Egypt located on the way to Al Qalzam Mountain. This place was home to hermit Anthony who lived inside a cave in the mountain. Its decoration and engravings are beautiful enough to impress you. You need to climb a staircase with around 1000 steps to reach the cave that brims with the writings and drawings of the saint. From there, you can admire the beautiful views over the mountains. After lunch, we’ll drive to the monastery of St. Paul which was built over the cave of the saint. The site exhibits colorful decorations and ancient objects. When the tour ends, we’ll drive you back to Hurghada.

It is a destination that is not well known by many tourists, and we were not sure if we could make the tour from Hurghada. But no problem, it was planned the trip as a one day tour, so we left early in the morning from our hotel and returned in the evening safe and sound.
The transportation was convenient and comfortable. Our tourist guide personally took us to 2 Coptic monasteries near Cairo, where we were guided around the premises by a resident monk. The prebyster in the St. Anthony monastery gave us a very informative and relaxed tour with lots of time. What a beautiful place. Climbing the 1500 steps to the cave was well worth it.
